WIG CARE
Tips on Hair Maintenance and Aftercare
Do's
- Wigs should always and are are to be kept on a wig block, if not, then the second option is in a box that does not squash the wig too much
- Wash wigs in warm water using a wig shampoo recommended by your supplier (Talking Heads).
- When washing a long wig try holding it under running water, this will reduce tangles and keep the hair in one direction, or have it washed professionally by us (washing service provided at Talking Heads)
- Always allow synthetic wigs to dry naturally on a wig block. Gently comb through after washing using fingers or a wide tooth comb and leave to dry before brushing into desired style.
Don'ts
- Never put your wig in a washing machine.
- Do not over-rub when washing as this causes matting.
- Never turn your wig inside-out for storage for any reason. (Think what your head would look like if you turned it inside out for a couple of weeks!)
- Never use hot air (hairdryers, hot brushes, straighteners, etc) on synthetic hair.
- Never cut your own wig, leave that to the professionals (cutting and styling service provided at Talking Heads).
- Don't pull the hairline of the wig down too low (no- one';s hairline is one inch from their eyebrows). Keep it high where your hairline should be. This is the most common mistake that people make, and it really looks awful., it's also a dead give-away!
Recommendations for use of Wig Products
- WIG SHAPMOO - Cleanses, softens and re-conditions. Specially formulated to deep clean and refresh synthetic wigs and hair pieces.
- WIG CONDITIONER - Restores freshness and body on damp fibre after shampooing to revitalize the bounce of synthetic fibres.

- WIG LUSTRE - Adds softness and sheen. A fine mist spray adds sparkling highlights to your wig. Restores dull fibre and enriches the colour.
Washing Instructions
- Fill a basin with cool or luke-warm water.
- Add a dash of wig shampoo and swish gently.
- Rinse thoroughly in cold water.
- Shake out and drip dry. Do not brush when wet.
- Brush into desired style after wig is completely dry.
- Always spray wig after it has dried with wig spray as provided by supplier (Talking Heads)
- Do not use curling irons or curling kits,
WARNING
Do not expose this product to excessive heat, which may
damage the wig

Consultation Form for Straightening Systems

JAP. HAIR STRAIGHTENING TALKING HEADS
Prior to making an appointment for a Japanese Hair Straightening service, we require all clients to complete our consultation form Form has to be filled in on a one to one with your stylist.
Permanent Hair straightening is a lengthy process, therefore, we require a completed consultation form to assess your hair quality and make appropriate price and time estimates. In-Person Consultations are essential.
Please note the following when considering this process:
The hair straightening process usually takes 3 to 6 hours Please be mindful of this when scheduling an appointment.
Permanently straightened strands, especially the care required after straightening hair, can be hard work. But when you are battling frizz and humid climates on the daily, a long-term solution can be a godsend. While everyone has their own reasons for opting for chemical straightening, the rules for the aftercare are universal.
To get the most out of your treatment, you should understand how it works and first Help you cover your basics.
Carefully Detangle Your Hair
The last thing you want to do is to be harsh with your hair. And that means you need to be really careful
with your everyday hair routine as well. The simplest of mistakes can have grave consequences. So,
when detangling your hair, be gentle. Do not push too hard on your hair and use a wide toothed comb
to detangle your hair.
Sleep With Precaution
One of the things that we need to be really cautious about after getting permanent hair straightening is to avoid any dents on the hair. These can beat the whole purpose of the treatment. And the highest chances of getting dents in your hair is when you are sleeping. To prevent that, put all your hair back over your pillow while sleeping so that you do not crush them with weight.
15 Days After Hair Straightening
- Follow a nutritious rich diet. You must consume almonds, nuts, salmons, fishes. This will improve and
maintain your health for a longer term. - Get your hair trimmed on regular basis. This is advisable that you should trim your hairs every 4 6
weeks. This will prevent any split ends in your hair. - Avoid using any heating tools.
- Strictly avoid any kind of chemicals on your hairs. After straightening your hair has received higher
doses of chemicals already. So, don’t touch any kind of chemicals for at least a year on your hairs. - It is important to follow below guidance steps to keep the hair in well maintained state after getting the
permanent straightening treatment. - Please do not shampoo your hair for at least 48 hours after having permanent straightening.
- Avoid any form of moisture e.g. excessive perspiration and saunas etc for at least 48 hours after the
treatment. - Keep your hair as straight as possible i.e. refrain from using hair clips, putting hair behind ears
and avoid wearing hats or other head wears for at least 48 hours after the treatment. - Do not colour your hair for at least 2 weeks after the straightening.
- To keep your hair maintained, use a Deep conditioning sulphate free conditioner hair mask once a
week.
After hair straightening: The products you can use
Any shampoo with sulphates is a big no-no, as it is extremely harsh on the scalp.
Switch to sulphate-free hair products to avoid further eroding the health of your locks and breakages.
You can also try to shampoo less frequently, maybe once in three days. You can condition more often if
you need to, once every two weeks to salvage your hair from the sun and pollution damage,
Please use our recommended shampoos and conditioners for use after the Japanese straightening system. Please ask your stylist as to which ones you should buy.
Do not Tie Your Hair For The Next Few Days
Unless you want to see a dent on your freshly straightened hair, we suggest you stay far away from those hair ties. For the next few days (minimum three) post your permanent hair straightening treatment, you have to leave the hair open. All the time. Securing the hair using a hair tie can put a dent on your hair that is going to be there permanently. In fact, you need to refrain from using any and all hair accessories.
Use Hair Styling Products
There is only so much your hair can take. After putting your hair through all those chemicals and straighteners, you would want to keep all the heat styling products away from your hair, at least for the
time being. The heat from the products can damage the texture of your hair leaving it even more dry.
Wash Hair Frequently
The more you wash your hair, the more you expose it to the chemicals. After the tedious process of
straightening the hair, your hair can benefit from all the chemical break that it can. Stick to your normal
hair wash routine. Wash your hair with a gap of 2-3 days and in between take all the precautions you can to prevent your hair from becoming greasy.
Use Hot Water
We already know that our hair becomes dry after permanent straightening. And we need to refrain from
any activity that is going to make it more dry. Using hot water to wash your hair is that activity. Hot
water strips your scalp of its moisture leaving it dry and damaged. Use cold or lukewarm water instead
to keep your hair happy.
Hair Care When Your Hair Is Freshly Straightened
- Avoid sweat or water to come in contact with Your hair.
- Don’t tuck or hide your hair strands behind your hairs.
- Hair tying is strictly avoided. Not even any rubber bands or clutches on your hair.
- Sleep on a satin pillow case. Well, this is advisable even for a longer run.
- Since you have to avoid any kind of water contact on your hairs so start using shower caps.
